The story behind
SOUNDGLOW

Hi! We're Thor and Aleksander. We're two guys from just outside Roskilde who have known each other since primary school. Thor is an engineer and used to work as a project manager in construction. Aleksander is a corporate lawyer with a past in finance. On paper, two very different backgrounds — but together we share a passion for electronic music, parties and ridiculous light shows.

And that passion is exactly what started all of this.

2024

How it started: light inside the Soundboks

SOUNDGLOW began as Thor's personal hobby project. One evening in 2024 we were listening to music on Aleksander's Soundboks 3. Thor got the idea that you had to be able to fit lights behind the grille that followed the beat. The idea was too good to let go, so Thor headed for the workshop.

There were three main challenges: where to put the light, how to hide the controller, and how to power it. The answer was a fully integrated kit.

Perfect fit

The edge of the grille was exactly the right thickness for our LED strip, so it lit the speaker from every side.

Hidden controller

We 3D-printed a small housing for the controller that mounts exactly where the Soundboks logo sits – using the existing bolts.

Power without the hassle

Why fit new batteries when the Soundboks already has one? We made a Y-cable that splits the power from the battery, plus a connector for the controller that fits through the hole in the grille.


The result? An elegant plug-and-play solution that integrates without permanently altering the speaker. You don't even have to void the warranty by drilling holes.

We weren't the first to put lights in a Soundboks, but we do think we've built the best-looking and most user-friendly solution on the market.

2026

From hobby project to a 50:50 partnership

We were so happy with the solution that Thor opened a small webshop in 2025. We sold a few, but the world had no idea we existed.

So in 2026 Aleksander took on social media to put some fire under the sales. The videos took off, and we decided to make SOUNDGLOW a 50:50 partnership.

It's simply more fun being two.

Thor is the brain who develops the products, while Aleksander plays cheerleader and spreads the word.

Party UFO: born at Roskilde Festival

The Soundbokses had become great to look at, but the dance floor was still dark. Even when we stacked two Soundbokses, they couldn't light up a whole dance floor – especially not with people standing in front of them.

We needed a light that could be hung up, taken anywhere and bathe the dance floor from every angle. We put our heads together in the run-up to this year's Roskilde Festival. We have a strong tradition of building great camp setups in area C, and out there in the middle of nowhere, with no access to power, the idea for the Party UFO was born.

Instead of flashing people in the eyes from a small black box, we designed the lamp as a circle. It turns the dance floor into a living play of shadows in every direction.

To cover the whole camp, we added the option of extending the show with a 5 metre fairy-light.

100% portable

It runs on a standard power bank that straps securely to the top. With the included hooks, magnets and velcro straps you can hang it up anywhere.

A remote for the floor

You can control it from an app, but when you're on the dance floor, the last thing you want is to stare at your phone. So we made a lightning-fast remote with a dedicated strobe button. Passing it around between friends on the floor is a brilliant icebreaker!

After the
festival

More than just a party

After the festival we took the UFO everywhere – to the summer house, out on the patio, round at friends'. That's where we discovered something unexpected: with the built-in calm effects it is just as good at creating a warm, relaxed mood as it is at wild techno parties.
